Anyone else with a Puma 110 station wagon got the problem with the windows in the rear passenger doors dropping down slightly of their own accord. Was a standard fit feature on the Tdi so I asume Land Rover kept it on the options list for the Puma. I just check before I go anywhere now. 1982 88" 2.25 diesel

Standard on a double cab as well
I repositioned the window winder handles so that they point down when the windows are shut if that makes sense ! Bob |

yes i have this "option" to, its the only one that has worked without fail since day one!
i think the odd carier bag or knee knocks it as well to double the affect. land rovers dont you just love them. |

same "option" on my Puma 2010, very effective in a cold winter 1971 88 Series IIA somewhere in Southern Italy

Had the same on my old 1994 110 CSW.
Clearly a historical Land Rover design feature that the engineers decided to retain to keep the legend alive. Hope to see this on the new model when it finally emerges Mark |

My rear windows also have the self-opening feature. Initially I reoriented the handles in the hope that the weight of the handle would stop them opening, but it didn't work. I now have a simple and 100% effective solution - I again reoriented the winder handles so that in the closed position the handle points midway between straight up and the door's interior handle, and made a loop of elastic bungee cord round the interior handle that loops over the winder knob. Problem solved! Holds the window firmly shut, or at openings which are multiples of one-revolution.
I do however feel that this shouldn't really be necessary on a £30k+ vehicle, but, hey, it's a Land-Rover! |

Anyone here fitted a SPAL window motor kit to a 110 Defender's rear door windows? Might be the answer to the self-opening feature. Not too expensive either, when all things are considered.

I also have this option, I ordered it after experiencing the benefits of it on my Black LE Double Cab many years ago. My last car, a D3, unfortunately, didn't have this feature and I really missed it. When i asked the dealer how the flies were supposed to get in to feed the spider they said that the spider wasn't an option on the D3 either as it wasn't a real Land Rover. 2009 110 XS

I too would be interested to know if anyone has, and if there would be enough room in the doors of the Puma for the motor/works etc. If so........Group buy???????? |

our Aus friends Scallops and Dmtd5 (Derek) have moved there handles so when the window is shut they are at bottom,this seems to work 2.4 90 XS

That thud sound is AndrewS's head hitting the table. Half a page up is a link to a post he made in Sept 09 saying turn them 180 degrees - I did this on my 1987 one ages ago - the weight of the knob on the handle is then pushing down to close the window as it rattles about rather than opening it slightly.
