1. Wheels balanced and swapped round
2.Kingpins checked for play 3.Wheel bearings checked 4.Pan hard bushes the swivel housings bearing pre-load that has to be set with a spring balance. It is adjusted by shimming the kingpin bearing. If the kingpin bearings have got a little worn, this could definitely cause the symptoms that you are experiencing i.e. death wabble Click image to enlarge |

You shouldn’t rotate tyres on a Defender not good practice unless you do it regularly and in the correct direction for your tread pattern. Suggest you try putting them back
