LR Used Approved warranty - what does (and doesn't)it cover?
I know we should have got some paperwork (we may even have some) but when we got the 110 it came with used approved LR warranty for a year.

There are a few bits I want sorted before it expires - what does it (and more importantly doesn't it) cover?

The BM came with 8 months BMW warranty left topped up with 4 months AUC - which was as comprehensive as the proper BM one. The LR sales guy mentioned a few things that weren't included - I seem to remember something to do with aircon and that's it!

Things I'm looking at are:

Bit of corrosion - rear door hinges, a few bolts, step rails/rock sliders (whatever they are)
Think the clutch/gearbox might need a check - rattles a bit when idling out of gear and a bit snatchy on occasion (but feels fairly normal for a Defender)
Slightly odd vent blower action - blower does almost nowt until the number 3 setting then goes full blast. No gradual increase.

I'll do the usual and take it in just before the warranty expires and get everything sorted if I can. Might do it as part of a service but not mad keen on our local main dealer. Defender 110XS SW gone... now VW California 180 4 Motion.

Hmm - I guess I could have just looked it up on the LR website?!

Have now had a look - paint and bodywork not covered nor hinges. Better sort them out myself then!

The other two look like probable claims. Defender 110XS SW gone... now VW California 180 4 Motion.

3 year paint surface warranty irrespective of mileage and changes of ownership.

6 year perforation warranty irrespective of mileage and changes of ownership. Perforation specifically mentions "rust" so it is questionable whether it covers any of the aluminium panels (anyone had one repaired under this warranty) since "rust" is a term specifically applicable to ferrous metals only.

As usual there are plenty of get-outs regarding maintenance, accident damage, cleaning etc.

I had this problem with a used volvo, i had the used volvo warrenty which i thought covered every thing.
Took it in for the front bushes being worn and a knock from the steering, needed wish bones bushes and ball joints.

Got a phone call off volvo, not covered, being a mardy tight yorkie i gave them a round of F***s and it was left with them, lucky for me i did not need it, was sat in their garage for 3 days, util it was sorted, kind off, i had to pay for parts, so i did, then wrote to dealer principle and got my money back.

Just a drive chain warrenty i was told, could be the same for LR i guess. So check all grease nipples are on your UJ's, diffs are dry and gear box / transfer box is dry.
