France 2007 Defender 90 Puma 2.4 XS CSW Santorini Black
Introducing "Bluebell"
I discovered this little beauty around 18 months ago,but couldn't come to an agreement with the previous owner.
Unexpectedly, just over a month ago,I foound it still for sale,& managed to secure it.
It's a very early 1958 Series 2.
So in the first month.I have replaced, with a good second hand front axle, fully rebuilt with new bearings, seals, swivel balls & joints etc.Shocks,Ball joints.Rear brake shoes. The tilt was missing,so sourced a S/H canvas with good pattina.

This was just to get it to drive in a straight line & stop. Rolling with laughter
Replace the silly 265 wide tyes on modulars with origional spec steels & 750/16.
The plan is a rolling resto, use it & enjoy it.
Marc

Is there a reason why it has a 1963 registration plate? Defender 90XS SW

I don't know. Confused
I was wondering the same thing myself.
Can anyone else shed some light on why it has a later Reg!

Marc, just looking at your photo of the axle, it looks like the leaf springs could do with a good coating of penetrating oil Defender 90XS SW

Yes...It's on the to do list.
Though the rears look a little saggy,so a new (second hand) set are on order.
Very Happy

Possibly the original registration was sold off. I had an A plate on a Land Rover issued by the then DVLC which had the plate sold and was on a farmers Merc.
