F/S - Sony DSX-S300BTX Digital Media Receiver **SOLD**
For Sale:

Sony DSX-S300BTX Digital Media Receiver. (8 months old)

This unit holds an iPod internally or will accept an audio signal over bluetooth. If you have an iPhone you can connect to the unit to make and recieve calls and simultaneously stream music (music cuts out for calls), tracks can be skipped via the head unit.

I am including the now discontinued aftermarket (sony branded) voice microphone for mobile phone integration. In a Defender, this routes very easily behind the dash, behind the drivers 'a' pillar trip and clips to the back of the sun visor, audio quality is very good.

The detachable face plate has one or two light scuffs but nothing major. Everything Sony originally provided, including the remote control and fitting pins are present and included in the sale. The original packaging has been disposed of, would prefer collection, any postage at buyers expense.

On a TD5 it is a plug and play straight swap.

Currently on sale for £199

PRICE: £100

Manufacturers blurb:

The Sony DSX-S300BTX digital media receiver features an integrated Tune Tray to securely store your iPod or Walkman MP3 player neatly within the receiver, eliminating loose wires. It even includes a reminder alert, which ensures you don't leave your device behind. Easily connect, charge and control your digital music player with USB 1-wire, located within the Tune Tray. This innovative feature displays metadata like song title, artist and track number on your front display when your music is playing.

The detailed 4-line fluorescent display makes it easy to read song information and the additional front USB input lets you connect a pen drive or other USB device into the front of the stereo. Use the ZAPPIN function to play 6, 9, or 30-second music clips until you find the song you want.

Other user features are the built in phone book which can be conveniently accessed and filled via Bluetooth to your mobile phone, storing up to 500 contacts in the system. The Bluetooth connectivity goes a step further than that though, allowing you to stream music wirelessly from a connected device as well as talking ‘hands-free' on your phone whilst in car.

The Sony DSX-S300BTX delivers 52 watts of peak power to all four speakers while EQ7 lets you adjust the mix for a dynamic sound experience.
Flip-down detachable faceplate
Bluetooth Handsfree & Streaming
Integrated Tune Tray for device storage
Front additional USB input
MP3/WMA/AAC playback
USB 1-wire for iPod® and MP3 players

N.B this unit does not feature a CD mechanism.

It has been excellent. You actually don't need an iPod, the unit has a USB port on the front so you can plug a memory stick with mp3 files on it straight in. The iPod being stored inside the main unit though is a very neat touch, my favourite connection method though was music over bluetooth from the iPhone - this works brilliantly and you don't even have to take the phone out of your pocket! Just start the car and the phone auto connects.

Shame the PTI kit in my D3 hasn't got this Big Cry

Go on, you know you want it Laughing

(just a bit of clarity on the bluetooth connection, it doesn't bluetooth the track information, it just plays it. It will though let you skip tracks though from the remote and the unit forward and back functions)

The bluetooth phone connection is also excellent Thumbs Up

Just chop them up and push them into the same slot where the iPod goes. Sound quality might be slightly degraded though Laughing
