I used the Search function and found some good general info on members' POV on various intercoolers, but none as a comparison. As such, has anyone seen/fitted/tested more than one make?
The obvious ones I am interested in, (perhaps) in order, are as follows: Alive BAS Allisport/IRB Twisted I cannot decide which one. Heard good things about Alive and BAS, mixed views (quality) on the Allisport, and the Twisted (as with everything Twisted) seems to be £150+ more expensive than the others for no apparent reason. That's the cost of some silicon hoses. Any thoughts? Monsieur Le Grenadier I've not been everywhere, but it's on my list..... 2011 Puma 110DC - Corris Grey |

In addition to the 4 you mention, there is a very good one available from a German supplier. Actually produced in Austria I believe. I have this installed for a few years now. Perfect.

Allisport here. Np at all and great service.
I don't think Alive makes them or do they?? I thought they used allisport. Got the radiator from them as well a defender from 1984 pretending to be a puma with a touch of Range Rover |

Used Alisport for 200k miles on my old 300 tdi - no problems - BUT have just had the BAS intercooler fitted to the 2.4 puma because my experience with the BAS RRC2 has given me great faith in Pete's customer support - more or less instant and accurate.

The Alive Ultimate Defender intercooler indeed looks very much like the Chiptech intercooler. The Entreq intercooler which I have also seems the same one from Chiptech. When you work out the forex, the prices of Entreq and Alive are virtually the same, so would say buy basis the best shipping cost depending your location. As said, I have this intercooler from Entreq, it is really a plug 'n play perfect fit, and no chance that this Chiptech ever will split its welds under the pressure.

i have an Alisport one in my 110 fitted 2012 or similar, no problems with it
have an Alive Ultimate 1 in my 90 softop. fitted last year they both work, neither gave it immediate extra oomph, both lowered engine coolant running temps under load. much a muchness really. Cheers James 110 2012 XS Utility 130 2011 M57 bespoke Camper 90 2010 Hardtop 90 M57 1988 Hardtop |

I have an Alive intercooler the top one! Now out here alisport don’t get a nod because of failures. This may not be a problem in the uk, however with postage out here, once bitten! They may be now a top draw product and with excellent customer service, I dont know. However the the Alive product works better at plus 50C than Land Rover at 35C ambient. It’s built like a brick ...you know! Could be wrong I seem too think it’s Austrian.👍

Out of interest, did you change coolant and replace with original fluid or replace for brand new fluid? How many degrees roughly running temp difference did you notice? $W33T $0U7H3RN $UG4R 🇬🇧🏴🏴🏴🇮🇪🇺🇸⛽️🛢️⚙️🧰💪 |

No same coolant
Pulling 3.5t uphill at 60mph over 2-3 miles temp 8-10deg lower as shown on scsnguage when compared to same setup and loading and ambient over std intercooler. Cheers James 110 2012 XS Utility 130 2011 M57 bespoke Camper 90 2010 Hardtop 90 M57 1988 Hardtop |

Quite a reasonable gain then.
Reason I asked was because when I changed my coolant over that reduced running temp a little too. So, as you've used the same coolant it definteky goes to show the updated intercooler is doing its thing as it should. $W33T $0U7H3RN $UG4R 🇬🇧🏴🏴🏴🇮🇪🇺🇸⛽️🛢️⚙️🧰💪 |

I went for the BAS Hi-Flow because I liked the research he did and published. It was developed to be optimal for the Puma engine so seemed a sensible choice to me. It was also however that I wanted a package deal with remap, seemed to make sense. James
