Fixed a strange starting issue .. | |
My fairly standard V8 has always been a nightmare to start ... but once running seems fine. She'd had a new cam and a degunge - a session on a rolling road - no obvious fault.
Decided the fuel filter was old ... took a photo to find a replacement ... found it was a Peugeot 206 filter ... £6 on a new one and all is now well and she fires first time ..
Just thought I'd share !

The simplest thngs well done.
I fitted a different throttle/kickdown assembly last Saturday night, but didn't test anything as I knew nothing could have gone wrong.
Loaded it up Sunday morning for a day out, turned the key... and it didn't even try to start.
Removing all the relays to resettle the Ecu, allowed it to start, but was missing.
Used a laser heat detector to find out which cylinder wasn't firing (1 cold exhaust against 7 hot) told me it wasn't a coil.
Turned out I'd disturbed an injector connector and it wasn't seated correctly, pushed it on, bingo.
