Whilst looking for my other problem,........
I found this attached to the battery, an internet search reveals it is from a merc and is some sort of battery terminal lead but I can’t work out what it is for. It appears it should have another cable attached ........I think.
Any ideas?

Goes to the alternator, so maybe a resistor???
