I'm not sure this is possible but hopefully someone can through some light on it.
It would appear my a/c is knackered once more but that not really my concern - what I can't understand is when I turned it on the other day to see if it would work one of the dash vents seemed a lot cooler (not cold probably about ambient) but the other was notably warmer? don't they both come from the same duct etc. I assumed initially that the ducting was warm and if I left it for a while it would cool and both sides would be the same, only it didn't. Can there be an explanation for one side being warmer than the other? I assume not? thanks all. |

My best guess (if that helps) is the common issue of the heater control valve. My thinking is that the heater control valve is letting some hot coolant past into the heater matrix (behind the heater controls). This is just enough to take the edge off the cool air as the coolant flows through, but only enough to heat half of the air before it splits either side. If you want more detail let me know and I'll explain with pictures
Have a look through http://www.defender2.net/forum/post630037.html It will offer more advice and show that its a weak point. Looks like a throwaway part but fairly easy to change. |

that makes some sense. The issue I 'appear' to have is that the two circular vents are different temperatures?
I don't think in theory this is possible but it certainly seemed like this to me? |
