Thanks for the link and memory-jog Martin.
As you say they are Econoseal 250 Series connectors, and my records show that I bought them from Simtek. My records also show that I have several spares but I have no idea where I have put them! It is a little disturbing that they appear now to be five times the price that they were in 2017. |

Hi. Sorry to resurrect after so long but wondered if you used the original wiring given higher power pumps or ran new wiring and a relay? Thanks. |

I seem to remember that I used the original wiring to activate two relays, which are fused directly from the battery. I installed a bank of relays just inside the n/s wing which are individually fused from the battery and use sensible gauge wiring. The relays operate the windscreen and headlamp squirters, the headlamps themselves (dip/main), the light bar on the front of the rack, and the amber strobes and beacons on the rack, and possibly a few other things I have temporarily forgotten.
It is very easy to install and configure relays for the squirters and headlamps in this area since they are so close to the original wiring and it is easy to cable back to the battery box. They are also high enough in the engine bay to avoid getting dunked in water or mud too often. |

it wasn’t hard to make my own wiring
I used a relay from https://www.autoelectricsupplies.co.uk/p/1...-and-break And this plug https://www.simtekuk.co.uk/product.php/250...:::1593614 think it’s the same as a disco2 one. And got a plug to go in the original wiper wiring and got power from battery for high power |

It also helped me that the wiring for the rear screen wash/wipe was present on my double-cab, so much of the work for the headlamp washers was already done for me.
I think the later DCs had a value-engineered harness, but on my '07 the dash wiring and main harness wiring for the heated rear screen and rear wash/wipe were all present, which has proven very useful over the years for other things. |
