Probably a simple question,
I'm buying a one of https://www.mudstuff.co.uk/blue-sea-fuse-block.html these to attach to +ve battery terminal. Problem is the + terminal connectors ate the type that have battery cables connected via 2 screws and theres no option for mounting said fuse box horixontally and attaching it to the terminal . Anyone else using the above fuse box? A Santa - 1977 Series 3 - new chassis, tub, disc brakes,SU Carb Gertie - 1999 110 TD5 - like a Phoenix from the ashes back on road... almost Effie - 2004 110 TD5 County |

I have this Bluesea Fuse Box mounted on a Puma Batter. May be different on a TD5 (if that is where you are installing it)... The + Terminal looks like this for me with its 500AMP fuse and its main supply to the Starter Motor and Power take off to the Main Fuses (under the drivers seat) and one other power take off for the towing electrics installed.  Click image to enlarge The Bluesea (for me) sits on top of the main securing Terminal fastenings. On this type of Battery Terminals they rely on a 'T' shaped Bolt that tightens a tapered collar, locking the Teminal. I made up two new longer bolts, allowing a 'spacer element' to be included, this then allowed the Bluesea (+&-) Units to sit just above the Batter top surface. Click image to enlarge I also replaced the Battery Securing Bolts to short versions, as the long reach 'rods' would have got in the way of the Bluesea elements... Exactly... thought I had a picture of it but apparently not, from memory M6 SS Bolts around 50mm in length...'repurposed'. There is a tendency to want to slightly over tighten these 'terminal bolts' to ensure a good connection, so if you do the same start with a tough bolt (8.8 or even 10.9) Mine were ARP SS Bolts (from the Marine industry) that are effectively an equivalent to a grade 8 Steel Bolt (SS can easily be weaker in tensile strength than steel). Replacing these bolts to accommodate the Bluesea (nicely) overall makes the set up work, as with most things in 'Defender World' there is a degree of 'adjustment' required to get things just so.
