I went for nylon nuts and bolts. Zero chance of corrosion and it's obviously not a structural part. Darren

I used stainless steel torx head machine screws with washers and nyloc nuts.

Yeah, I think they were M5. There's some more detail here, although annoyingly, not the bolt size

Mine were 12mm x M5 from Westfield fasteners.
