Help - I have a bad case of indecision!
Greetings all,
I two sets of wheels and tires - SVX alloys with Conti Crosscontact and Black Sawtooths with Hakkapeliittas
Both are 235/85R16. The Contis are from 12/14 and the Nokians from 01/15. Both sets are worn about 40% (60% remaining).

I like the
Look of the sawtooths better; two colours on the truck looks good to me, 3 colours is a bit busy.

I need to keep the Hakkapeliittas, but want Summers on the Sawtooths... and I’m not a fan of remounting tires (always thought this was sun optimal, but I could be wrong).

My Contis don’t balance that well. One of them needs 32g to balance.
I drive several thousand km in the summer in one go (CH to NO and CH to Sardinia) so I do feel the need for a summer tire, not to mention the off-roading, for which the Contis have been fine.

I could remount the Contis on my Sawtooths
Get some new summers for the Sawtooths and remount the Nokians on some steelies this fall
Do nothing and stop complaining
Or?
So what would you do?

Hi Stacey, those 18” Sawtooths would certainly look fantastic on your all black 110!

At the moment I’ve googled my way to thinking the 255/85 KM2s on my Sawtooths might be just the ticket for an all season... Roaming around 🇳🇴🇨🇭

Several beers worth of thought is now leading me to body coloured wolfs with 255/85 KM2s 🙈
Despite the weight, they should look nice with the unpainted fender flares and black roof.
Now to sort informing SWAMBO... Roaming around 🇳🇴🇨🇭

Personally, I would be concerned about the turning circle with Sawtooth's and 255's, which would be helped by the offset of the Wolfs Thumbs Up Rob

Having had both, I can say that there's about 6mm difference between Wolfs and Sawtooths. The latter have a different offset to the majority of standard LR alloys (about 22mm v 33mm), which brings the inner edge to virtually the same position as the narrower Wolf. Darren

I wouldnt be concerned with 255 on sawtooths or genuine wolf. However, personally, I'd choose Wolf style et0 rims for maximum offset to improve turning circle and look great! Just my personal opinion though. James

Thanks guys, this is a lot of help.
Seems the original Wolfs are et20,6 ? LRA are these the ones your refer to?

Whatever the wheel, I do prefer them to be a different colour to the body(black on black being the exception). Wolfs yes, but against grey I'd have to say black, not body coloured. Of the remaining two, the Sawtooths as I prefer the greater contrast of the black against your grey, to the silver of the SVXs. Thumbs Up Monsieur Le Grenadier

I've not been everywhere, but it's on my list.....

I run 265/75 MT’s on genuine LR 16 inch sawtooth rims. So these are wider than 255/85’s but smaller in diameter. I have not had any issues with steering lock so with the 255’s being narrower I think they will be fine on sawtooths or gen wolfs as they have the same offset. I think KM2’s have now been replaced with KM3’s.
My next set of tyres will likely be 255/85 r16 KM3’s, so will follow how you get on if you go that route. Just make sure your insurance company is aware you are running different tyres from the 235/85’s.

LRA, perfect, thanks for the guidance. I’ve read through all the threads I could find on wolfs and learned that there is only one real HD 6.5x16 and that’s the et20,6 you referred to. The et0 copies confounded me for a bit, and they wouldn’t have worked for me as I need the DTC papers for the Swiss authorities.

Now I’m down to two finalists - 265/75 KO2s on ANRs or 255/85 KM3s on LR Wolfs.

I like the 255 size better. The height and width. But dislike the weight. 45kg or so per corner is wild.

The KO2s are probably more “appropriate” for the amount of tarmac driving I do but they look a bit meh in my opinion.

So to my friends running KM2/3s... how bad are they really? I know it’s a mud tire. Can you reasonably drive 500 miles in a go?
