I'm amazed that's a 'buy now' price.

Why? It needs a huge amount of work doing to it and despite their relative rarity, they're not that sought after. Darren

A friend of mine wanted to buy one (a restoration project) and asked my opinion.
I said "do you want an old, worn, gas-guzzling V8 - AND leaf springs?" He still bought it. Left it standing around for a year. Then sold it...... Last edited by Slideywindows on 27th Mar 2018 10:03pm. Edited 1 time in total |

Hmm, ok. I think the wait will be a long one, IMHO. Darren

At £3k it was almost worth buying for the genuine grille alone!

Ha, ha, you could be right. When I first bought my Stage 1 it was fitted with a Defender grill. I went and bought a genuine replacement for the princely sum of £62, which was considered really expensive even then (circa 1999). Darren

Greeni's right, everything old in Land Rover terms seems to sell if the price is not too silly. A friend of mine has a prototype Stage 1 which he bought for not a lot of money and is a rolling restoration which is coming along nicely. And speaking of Series Ones, long gone are they day when I could pick them up for £50 - £100 when they were just viewed as bits of scrap! |
