Sounds interesting! I'm sure if you posted them on here someone will be able to tell you everything!
Otherwise, this forum does have a JLR customer relation, currently Stacie I think http://www.defender2.net/forum/topic58517.html Might be worth a try. Mine is 1984 build, but not registered until 1986.
Was originally a fire tender for Durham County Fire Brigade, then later converted to an Ambulance. It also has a 24v light in the dash warning lights cluster, but not sure why. When I go it, it still had a lot of very badly wired switches and gear for blues and twos and other lighting, plus has a plate in the roof where a hydraulic lighting tower once was. It still has a Special Vehicles contract plate with number dated 1997, so not sure if this is the original when built as a Fire Tender, or from when it was converted to an ambulance. From it's registration history, it looks like it was originally built with a 2.5 12J, then 3.5 V8, then a 3.3 diesel and now 300tdi. Would be good to get someone from JLR or SV to looks it's history up. 1986, 127, ex Fire Tender and Ambulance |

The 24v light in the instrument pack is standard for the era. Darren

I noticed an email address on my SV plate so dropped them a message and they replied with all the mods made to my 90 in the SV workshop, very helpful.

If you could post the email address from the plate that would be great . The plate on ours only has phone numbers , fax , and telex , which I've never heard of.
