Did one the other week, the one that came off the 98' 110 was the one with two tabs. Refitted with the 48mm washer though. The nut shouldnt come lopse with the torque it is meant to be tightened to!

I have seen a couple of them come loose over the years, both times the locking washer wasn’t correctly tabbed over. 90 wolf - Jasmin http://www.defender2.net/forum/topic39408.html

The locknut on my old 90 also came loose some years back so when I convert the 110 to the disco style drop-arm, I'll fit a new lock washer for peace of mind.
Whilst having a shufti on Google last night, there's also a 3rd version (STC874) which again is a large washer but 60mm rather than 48mm. This was fitted to late D1s that use the droparm with a hole for a TRE rather than the Defender style ball joint. 2005 Td5 110 Hardtop 1989 300Tdi 90 Soft top 1992 200Tdi 90 Truck cab with Land Cruiser axles |
