2016 Defender 110 Puma 2.2 Adventure Phoenix Orange

Expedition roof rack corrosion

Not exclusive to Adventures, but this is the one on Mrs Doublea's Adventure (which has been garaged since new):

It looks like there are pin holes in the powder coat. A warranty item at three years I reckon. Current Steeds:

mine rotted through after 4 years, still got good money for it. fitted this instead.

The genuine racks to be honest aren't the best.

I claimed a new rack for my 110 at two years old for the exact same thing.
Pin holes in the coating.
When the new rack arrived at the dealers I was told it was worse than the one I had so they didn't change it.
I cleaned the pin holes and put matt hammerite on and wiped the excess off with a rag so it just sealed the pin holes.
Once dried it looked like new.
Also where the roof rack fits you'll see dents in the gutter. I was worried that they would make it worse if they swapped the rack over.
