150,000+ miles per year is not uncommon in the haulage industry, bearing in mind if the lorry isn’t moving it’s not making money. Doesn’t take many years to get to a million at that rate.
I once drove a lorry, the place liked to double shift them so they never got cold or stopped for long. It had 600,000kms on the clock and it wasn't the first time around and it was only 8 years old.
Literally the run would be Midlands, drive 4.5 hours north up North take your break while the trailer gets swapped in the yard and 4.5 hours back. Drop it off and another driver would take it and do the same 30 mins after you got back.
