I've recently been relocated at work - my current 15 mile round trip is soon to turn into a 70 mile round trip. As such, my 110 which I build last year is, reluctantly and regrettably, for sale. I built this 110 to be the perfect vehicle for me, but alas the job has to come first at the moment.
I need a boring diesel motorway estate / hatchback, so a PX could easily be possible. 1993 110 CSW rebuilt in 2010 on galvanised chassis Galvanised second row doors, new skins, galv chassis crossmembers and B Pillar assembly, galv shock towers Resprayed in Java Black 70k TD5 engine (speedo says 98k but was from a different vehicle - true mileage is stored on ECU) 1.2 Discovery transfer box Milemarker hydraulic winch, engine driven ZF74 pump, Lodar remote control, BRB galvanised bumper Aluminium steering guard and recovery points Mantec jackable sills - ev-Camel Trophy vehicle Mantec raised air intake Factory tinted windows, heated front screen Sillblade wipers XS spec interior - new Exmoor Trim heated leather seats, leather gearbox and transfer box knobs Nokia Bluetooth handsfree kit, iPhone-compatible Pioneer stereo Defender Puma second row seats Fully carpeted and soundproofed Raised Genuine cubby box (storage underneath) with Discovery cupholders Custom built storage box in rear load area (similar to Barebox) Enclosed pedal lock and stereing bar Factory alarm and immobiliser X-Eng X-Deflex selectable anti-roll bar Private plate included DSC_4373 by Scgwhite, on Flickr £13,500 - will be sold with full MOT. I know chaps, it's horrid to do but needs must. I can't justify keeping it as a weekend toy and the commute (45 mins each way, all motorway) would be less than ideal.
Tim, I may keep the plate for the future when I can have another. My blog - www.anacreinhampshire.blogspot.co.uk 110 TD5 BuildHERE - sold! 110 Tdci Build HERE - sold! Passat Alltrack - 4x4, auto, 45mpg, gloriously comfortable - but not a Defender! |

Keep the Land Rover and buy a really cheap little car for the commute. Best of both maybe Original Member Pie n Pea Club.

As above mate, get a cheap fiesta, micra, punto blah blah. Less than £1K for some tidy motors. If I had the money I would be buying your Defender in a flash

I commute 45-50 minutes each way in my 110, no problems at all, mostly motorway. Same setup as yours with a Td5 and 1.2 transfer box. I've been doing that for years and my 7 year old TD5 has just passed 160k miles I actually look forward to going to work in the 110... ...and then spend all day waiting to drive it home again. It cheers me up and gives me something to look forward to. Dave Green Goddess - 1998 Defender 110 300tdi |

Although I only drive about 20-25 miles to the clients office the time can vary from 30 minutes at 6am to 1 hour if I leave after 7 am and the the same if I leave their office from 4-6 in the evening. I do know some times I do wish I was in another vehicle (swmbo disco) if I didn't drive a land rover I won't be able to park. As there's limited parking which is allocated to the staff employees I us the ability of the defender to park where I want, much to the annoyance of the security guard
Ps I'm on dual carriage way for 60% of the time. Russell 2011MY 110 XS USW Black |

Simon thats a lovely looking 110 personally if I was you I would not sell it since you built it to your specs, like everybody else says why don't you get something smaller to run around in. Last year I got myself a toyota yaris and swapping it next month for a toyota FJ crusier, my defender is only used on weekends, I could never part with my land rover. '08 LR Defender 110
