Troubleshooting Alpine Hands free issue
I have an Alpine CDE-136BT that also has the handsfree mic attachment.

This includes the sub and was a professional fit bought by the previous owner.

Everything works except for the mic. When I get a call I can answer through the stereo and can hear the caller but they can't hear me!

I feel like there's a setting I must be missing somewhere?

Thanks

I had the same problem and the mic had blown. Replacement was about £20 and half an hour to fit Thumbs Up Ray

It's also extremely easy for the mic to come out of its socket on the back of the head unit. There are a lot of cables and not a lot of room behind there... Dave

I had a similar problem, excuse the language, but I had it in the wrong hole, there are several that will take the jack plug!

Is the mic actually any good even when fully functioning? I've never had much luck with using it, sound quality at the other end is always stated as being poor - I've put it down to a combination of cheap part and noisey vehicle.

Is there an easy upgrade part that maybe does a better job of cancelling out the general noise in the vehicle?

I had this on my brand new 64 plate 90 discovered when driving home from collecting it from the dealership.
It turns out it was/is a common fault ;- the mic plug comes out of the back of the head unit either in assembly during manufacture or in use !!!!!
I'd suggest popping the head unit out + checking here first
Good luck
