Leaks - Mastic in your windshield and Safari windows ?
Hello all,

So my latest Defendering is making a determined effort to waterproof my bulkhead, so far my targets are:

- Front door seals - from top exterior gutter down around a-pillar, then down the seal/door until it hits the curved section and 'pools' there until it overflows inside on to the check-strap etc. - SOLVED with a heap of mastic in the door seal.

- Front windshield - heavy rain will pool in the gutter at the bottom of the windshield pushing water past the seal. Does so at a slightly misaligned seam in the body work about 70mm in from the 'hinge'/bracket, then dripping around pedals via the electrics Rolling Eyes . Unattended to ...

- Intermittently, a lot of water coming from above the roof lining at the front corners of the front door seals. Pools along the internal rail formed by the roof to body connection, can be seen when looking through the safari windows. I suspect (for now) that it is coming via them.

I watched someone install my front windshield using the cord method last year and it didn't seem too painful, have found info to follow on another forum (https://forums.lr4x4.com/topic/10250-defender-windscreen-removal-replacement/) - but what I don't see is much discussion regarding using mastic - otherwise described as non-curing but waterproof wonder-gunk. Same with Safari windows, got a new set of spare seals (the strips and the seals) and am ready to go.

Any tips, tales of success or failure? For now I fear that I'm just asking for a complete mess Neutral

*Some other honourable mentions:

Misaligned rubber gasket on the clutch pedal/master cyl box
Footwell floor panels not fastened fully
Roof not fastened fully/cracked seal
(all dealt to)
Solved the bowel problem, working on the consonants...
