Bad Fuel?
Truckasaurus has been running really badly this week, reluctant to rev, stalling, bogging down on a gear change, rattly engine, that type of thing. I did my best to ignore it and hoped it'd go away and this morning I put £40 of diesel in from a different fuel station and the problem has gone away. It's now running just how it should, no more problems.

So I'm thinking it might have been crappy fuel, do we get crappy fuel in the UK? Could it have been that or does it shout of something else? I thought they're supposed to run crappy fuel OK?

Car info: 54,000 miles, 2011 110 2.4. Totally standard. Serviced over a year ago but only a few thousand miles since (I don't do that many miles).

Thanks. Thumbs Up

Your symptoms sound like VCV-related. Check threads. Easy change, needs teaching afterwards but truck runs.

Could be a lot of reasons, try Millers diesel additive soon.

Clean MAF & MAP sensors plus replace air filter.
All of these things are cheap to do and go from there, cold weather makes diesel wax more too plus it has cold weather additives too. $W33T $0U7H3RN $UG4R

Thanks for the info, chaps. The VCV sounds like the culprit, I've had a look around the forum and the symptoms match, even explains why turning the engine off (to refuel) 'solves' the problem.

I'll get it replaces. Soon. Very Happy
