I thought about putting one in permanently but then thought why give someone access to everything including the alarm system just inside the car.
It's a great piece of kit to have but I wouldn't have it permanently installed. Just my thoughts ![]() |

Nanocom used to do their own windscreen mount for the Nanocom head but it seems to have disappeared from the website, suppose you may be able to pick on up off the bay. However looking at how you assemble it I wonder if it was withdrawn because of possible damage to the screen!

I use mine on long trips in instrument mode, mainly for kmph readout on continental trips, and did buy the mount for it from Blackbox but it was pretty unstable and kept falling off the screen. I removed the ashtray and metal mount from the centre of the dash, shaped a block of wood to fit in the hole with a groove cut diagonally in it to mount the nanocom in angled towards the driver. Its pretty stable in this position and easy to access to scroll through the screens.

I have an .stl file for a Nanocom mount that grips the nanocom and has a RAM compatible 1" ball on the back if anyone has a 3d printer and wants it. Needs to be printed in PETG ideally. http://www.yorkshireoffroadclub.net/ |

Is it possible to buy this mount somewhere?
I do not own a 3d printer...... ![]() Also been locking for a cable that is more of 90 degrees in one end (connection to the unit), any hints on how to find/buy one like that? |

Connector on the nanocom unit looks like a 15 way d-sub connector to me , so you want something like this https://uk.farnell.com/l-com/dg9015mf3/d-s...price=true
Or this. https://www.l-com.com/d-sub-low-profile-ri...ble-exit-2 Do a search for a better price. |
