The page on the link says they are made of "soft vinyl leatherette" so no cows were harmed it is not real leather.
I used the Exmoor Trim "tecno" ones a couple of years ago when I re foamed and covered my front seats and from memory no knuckles were harmed or lost. I did it on one of the hotest days of the summer though and the exertion required to push and pull everything around did mean that there was copius amounts of sweating going on (not as bad as losing knuckles though). 1995 300 Tdi Epsom Green - It's a keeper.
