Interior light timer
Morning all,

When I open the driver door on my 90, the interior light only stays on for 3-5 seconds, if I do the rear door or passenger it's for alot longer (approx 10-15 seconds)
I have had a quick search and can't see anything similar, I'm assuming they are a set time and it cannot be altered, any help appreciated: something small but quite annoying 😁

Thank you

Will

just to clarify, this is your 2015 90 and do you mean if you open a door - and keep it open - the light goes out after a few seconds?

There is a timer, to save flattening the battery I assume, but it is more like 10 minutes or so.

Or do you mean when you close the door, the light stays on for a few seconds?

If you clarify the exact problem, it will bump the thread and someone will know the problem Thumbs Up

With the Td5's you can access the Alarm system with a Nanocom or the like and alter the seetings with that including the interior light delay.

Thanks apt, Sorry For any confusion, yes my 2015 90,

I meant if I open the drivers door (climb in) then shut the door the light stays on for 3-5 seconds, however if i do the same with the passenger or rear door it stays on for 10-15 seconds.

Thanks
Will

If the door is closed and the interior light is on, turning the ignition on fades the lights off immediately Thumbs Up 2002 90 Td5 Station Wagon

Functions are controlled by the AS10, can be adjusted with Nanocom as suggested above on a TD5 but applies or Pumas also.

Are light fixtures the same? It could be driiferent draw on each fixture that makes a difference.
The lower the draw the faster they go of normally, so LED if fitted being very low current draw will go off much quicker than a regular incandescent bulb.

Just a thought, but possible wrong. ⭐️⭐️God Bless the USA 🇬🇧🇺🇸 ⭐️⭐️

As above the 10AS alarm unit controls it (even if you don’t have an alarm the actual alarm is still there)

I would clean up the door switch’s and give the screws a tweak and see if that’s makes a difference.

The OP said that they turn off much sooner when the drivers door is closed, the only reason that the lights would fade off quicker is because the ignition is being turned on. The fade delay time isn't selectable, you can only turn the function (smart interior lights in the menu) on and off.

When the ignition is on there is no delay before fading. If you close a door with IGN on the light fade out immediately where as if IGN off the lights stay on for 15 seconds.

The ignition over rides the delay function and will cut the delay short and the lights will fade straight away.

This is all controlled by the 10AS module or in 2015my onwards the later Siemens unit with the newer alarm fob Thumbs Up 2002 90 Td5 Station Wagon

It's not beyond the realms of possibility that there are different reactions for different doors. The driver's door is treated differently to the other ones.

Hi all Thanks for the replies, looks like a faulty switch now.

Today I unlocked both front doors and dis armed the alarm .
Opened the driver door and got in (light still on from disarm)
Light went out after approx 5 secs.

Keys not in ignition

Open drivers door - no interior light comes on (closed it)
Opened passenger door - light comes on (closed it and goes off gradually)

Going to clean the switch/ connections and see if this helps,

Thanks

Will

Check to see if the wire is still on the drivers door switch and if it's got a good earth. I had the same issue with my rear door. Ray

Switch is missing a bit of metal off the bottom - new one ordered, looks as though this is the issue.
