I ran spacers for a number of years but then got 18 inch alloys with offset so I didn't need them. I had no problems at all 2002 90 Td5 Station Wagon 1990 Vogue SE Triumph Tiger Explorer 1200 Td5 90 Thread http://www.defender2.net/forum/topic50767.html Tdi 110 Thread https://www.defender2.net/forum/topic69562.html RRC Thread http://www.defender2.net/forum/topic54492.html Instagram http://www.instagram.com/george_grafton |

As long as spacers are good quality and properly torqued you should have no problems at all. You do need to tell your insurance company about them though. Ray

If you are thinking of changing wheels and considering spacers, have a good look at the rim offset first.
You may achieve the same or nearly the same result by picking a wheel with a different offset. Brendan |

Hi Scotch. Just down the road from you. If you are ever Bangor way feel free to drop me a line and you can have a look at what 285/75/16 (approx. 33") tyres look like on boost alloys, with 30mm spacers and a 2" suspension lift.
I would say this size is about as big as you can go without fitting wider wheel arch spats. You can definitely get 35" tyres in the wheel arch, but suspect they are not overly practical for day to day use. You don't need spacers if you go 255/85, any wider though and you will. KEEP CALM AND Drill ON
