I have been lurking around on this forum for a while now; reading all the posts on Land Rover Defender ownership, just waiting for my chance to by my own. I finally took the plunge and placed my order for a used 11MY 110CSW last Tuesday for collection on Friday afternoon, come Friday morning changed over my insurance, parking permits from my old car to the Defender, by lunchtime work dropped a bomb shell on me and informed me that I am benig made redundant, as a result I had no choice but to pull out of the deal; my dream in tatters, how close can you get to buying a car without buying it. But Jeremy at lookers has been great, very helpful and knowledgeable during the sales process, even drove the vehicle to my neck of the woods so that I could test drive the vehicle on my local roads. Sorry Jeremy, but I will be back (should you want my custom) and I have no hesitation in recommending Lookers of Park Royal to anyone looking to buy a Defender or other LR products, of all the dealerships I have visited over the years this was truly my best experiance, they actually seem to care.

Sympathies, not good news
On the bright side how about getting a job as a LR salesman, you don't have to buy one then and there are always vacancies |

Spaice - that is very harsh indeed. Sorry to hear about it. At least it was handled professionally by the dealer I guess? Defender 110XS SW gone... now VW California 180 4 Motion.

I've also considered it in the past, but wasn't sure it would suit me. I was seriously tempted to put in for the recent vacancy at LRP, but I guess they want someone with experience... 2011 110 USW 1973 Series III 1-Ton 1972 Series III 1-Ton Cherrypicker 1969 IIA 1-Ton 1966 IIA 88" |
