I remember having a similar issue - I'm no expert, but I seem to remember I changed one from IMAP to POP3 or something... I think it was something to do with needing one as the 'master' & one as 'slave', i.e. only one could delete the email from the server (the IMAP one), so on the other (POP3), you can read & delete but it's still available for the master to download.
That's a little vague & shaky info tho - hopefully someone who actually knows can answer! |

Is it an iCloud email account? If so, IIRC you need to get an app specific password, rather than use your "standard" iCloud password.

Mine did this, none of the updates which followed fixed it, what seemed like years on an Apple chat session did not solve it.
On an off chance I tried my internet/email provider. They said make sure the SSL is set to off in settings. This solved it and has worked for two weeks since doing that! |

Chugga, I thought you may have solved my problem but alas SSL is already switched off. Thanks anyway. Defender 90XS SW

That’s a shame.
Good luck I know how annoying it is. |

Not sure why it would be different between the two but what sort of account is it, which supplier ?
It may be that there's a maximum concurrent login, make sure your iPad is turned off to make sure the two aren't competing with each other. When you added the account, which account type did you choose ? Sometimes, if you know the details it's easier to use the "other" option rather than one of the templates. Assuming you are using an iMAP account, go into the advanced settings on the account and make sure that the incoming settings are the same as your iPad, port number, path prefix, and SSL status as well as the authentication type. http://www.yorkshireoffroadclub.net/ |

Davew. I'll try switching the iPad off. I am using the "other" option. I will try all that you suggest and let you know if I solve it. Defender 90XS SW
