It was already apparent from the disguised test vehicles, how close the new one is to the old. Now you can play spot the difference, and try to see what has changed. This will be a massive sales success for MB, although I personally think it is the wrong approach. Yes, keep the basic boxy iconic shape the same, but why for heavens sake imitate the quirky wing top indicators and "carry over from a trailer supplier" taii-lights. Jeep has done a far better job, and it remains to be seen how JLR answer the same question. exciting times.... I like it a lot. My Merc S350 is the best car I’ve ever owned the interior is very familiar.
If only it wasn’t going to be a six-figure price! |

I've always liked the G class since my dad had one a 280GE years ago !!
Still looks great, having just come back from a trip to London Town, its still Awesome Love it especially in Brabus form... Click image to enlarge A couple went past and wow.... the sound !!! a second hand one was for sale in a showroom on Park Lane for £258,000 Thing is that new Bentley SUV is so common outside Harrods... As much as I love my Defender.... good job the Mrs does not like the G class... |

I love the wing top indicators! Do they look odd? Yes. Do they look out of place? Yes. Are they needed where they are? Not at all. Though it adds real character to the 4x4.
Id love a GWagon or an RR as a daily, probably want the GWagon more tho |

I read in another article that the old indicators didn't meet EU pedestrian safety regs so these had to be redesigned as collapsible, one of the hardest jobs on the whole update. Merc claim only 1% was the same as the previous generation. Yet it's still identifiably G. Let's hope the time JLR are taking with the new Defender means they are making the same investment and effort to produce a lighter, faster, stiffer, better EU compliant 'new' Defender that actually looks just like a Puma. Monsieur Le Grenadier I've not been everywhere, but it's on my list..... 2011 Puma 110DC - Corris Grey |

Agreed. Who likes flat-nosed, tall, box shaped 4x4s anyway? Monsieur Le Grenadier I've not been everywhere, but it's on my list..... 2011 Puma 110DC - Corris Grey |

G-class trucks look great, as long as you stay away from the body builder looking AMG or Brabus versions. Those are just hideous.
Eric You never actually own a Defender. You merely look after it for the next generation. http://youtu.be/yVRlSsJwD0o https://youtu.be/vmPr3oTHndg https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_GtzTT9Pdl0 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ABqKPz28e6A https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rLZ49Jce_n0 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XvAsz_ilQYU https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K8tMHiX9lSw https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=dxwjPuHIV7I https://vimeo.com/201482507 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZSixqL0iyHw |

Personally, I like the AMG and the brabus editions because they sound incredible! I just wish the pipes didn't stick out the side at the rear of the step ( about the only hang up I have) and of course the indicators!!
