71mpg averages over the last year (21,000 miles)... Average M25 stop start stuff not laboratory conditions
To get MPG anything higher than this you would need to: No inclines Drive 50mph Do not exceed 1500rpm No Aircon Empty car Tyre pressures at 60psi And a laboratory Working towards Carry on camping! |

to be fair 71 mpg average is excellent and I'd be quite happy with that.
BP man I think anything smaller than a fiesta would be a struggle as it'll be doing the 'swim run' which means me plus upto 3 girls and their kit. |

Andy80,
I test drove a 2013 1.5 tdci the other day and although it had 70k miles on it I was really impressed with the overall condition and how tight it all seemed. the only concern was from cold at about 1750 rpm it was kagarooing - I'm inclined to think it had something to do with the exhaust system ie stick egr (if they even have them) or similar. This was on very light throttle / off throttle / back on throttle. is this typical or do you think there's an expensive fault waiting to materialise? many thanks, |

Hi Caterham,
I've not experienced a kangaroo'ing issue but they are fitted with EGR though my Fiesta pulls quiet freely. I did have a niggly issue with boost pressure fault codes and going limp mode, after finding the codes and abit of internet search revealed that the Turbo vanes (variable) were sticking and causing boost issues. A bottle of https://www.forteuk.co.uk/product-detail/34/Diesel-Turbo-Cleaner done the trick! Andy Working towards Carry on camping! |
