Today I have been having to work on my Boss's 90.
He has LED headlights and the dipped beam keeps turning off. I swapped the main headlight switch a few weeks back, and that didn't change anything. The fault is intermittant (the best kind). So I went out with a multimeter and... Engine Running lights on dipped, Headlights = 8V Fuse = 8V Engine off but ign on, Headlights = 8V Fuse = 8V Not enough to run the 12v for the headlights so hence the failure. The LED was fitted as the headlights were crap hmm. Not with the engine running I took the Relay out for main beam that sits in the fuse box, then Headlights 13V Fuse 13V Put relay back in and I am still getting 13V. Now could the relay be at fault...could it be sticking? |
