Oil service light question + resetting after routine service
Last time I changed the oil myself after using a garage since the truck was new. When I changed the engine oil and filter there were no warning lights or oil service messages on so I did nothing to reset any service indicators.

Now a couple of thousand miles later and the oil service light has come on. Now I only do long journeys, I generally don't do less than 20miles on any trip. I suspect the oil service light is due to not resetting it at last service, I've seen there is a pedal-dance to reset the light which I'll do after changing the oil(probably not required but better safe than sorry).

My question however is what tool do I need to reset the service indicator when I change the oil in the future? Something to plug into the obd connector? 2014 Keswick Utility 2.2

Thanks, but I'm looking for the correct way to preemptively reset the service indicator when changing the oil- otherwise I'll have this same problem again if I don't reset the counter at point of service. 2014 Keswick Utility 2.2

My understanding was that if you follow the sequence shown in the post from dorsetsmith, then this resets the oil service counter back to the start point. So if you do this when changing the oil, this will be the same as the dealer resetting the oil service indicator.
That's what I did when I changed the oil in mine back in June.
