echo
I hear an echo ...just asked that question recently! Laughing http://www.defender2.net/forum/topic57680.html

I guess its a mostly yes it improves the gearchange ...with a few folk saying its rubbish,,so im still in a quandry as £200 could be spent on something else on the money black hole that is the defender.... if the haters could firm up why its rubbish it might help my decision as i have no problem with the gearchange but swinbo hates it with a passion.

Maybe the effect is different on different types of boxes?

I fitted one to my LT77 box and it made a huge improvement. I drove another 90 with an LT77 and no slickshift the other week and it reminded what a good mod it is. Matt.

Yes, do a search - lots has been said already. Also beware that it depends which gearbox people are talking about. The term 'slickshift' doesn't guarantee people are talking about exactly the same thing. As trickster says, they make different versions for different gearboxes.

I have one fitted to my Td5 (R380) and it is excellent. Without question one of the best things I've done to my 90, and I've done a lot. Would recommend without a moment's hesitation. 2005 Td5 | 90 Station Wagon | Tonga Green

Also don't forget that it depends very much on the condition of the gearbox in the first place. Had one now for the last 15k miles on a gearbox that has done 147k miles and it does exactly what it is supposed to do ie remove the length of throw/sloppiness of the gear stick between changing gears. Beforehand the stick was all over the place, but then made sure I did the LR recommended modification before I fitted the slick shift. Had I not have done that first then I probably wouldn't have had the benefit of what the slick shift is designed to do. Thumbs Up from me
