Jaguar e-Pace
New Jaguar e-pace is getting thoroughly smacked in car magazine reviews. The weight seems to be an issue, but also the price. What a surprise? Journalists seem to be very unimpressed, and public postings suggest a crazy total price increase when you 'build' your own bits in. Have JLR made a fundamental mistake, or will posh school-run mums save them? The consensus of opinion seems to be that they should have built it on a new aluminium platform, and that it's a shade too long (a shorter Audi Q2 rival might have been more appropriate). Time will tell, but from all the reviews I've read, they are really damning.

Edit:
And I see JLR are continuing their left-hand drive theme - even on the British version of their website?!? Why do they do that? Even French manufacturers show right-hand drive cars on their British web pages! It's like they want absolutely no association at all with being British. I cannot for the life of me understand this. Now left.

Posh school run Mums? I can’t see them leaving a Q5/7/Disco/FFRR for that. Rightly or wrongly Jags still have an association with an ‘older generation’ and I doubt many posh school run mums wants that!

You may be right. I was basing it on the number of posh school-run mums in Evoques in my area. Now left.

Evoques are still quite popular around here but Porsche Cayenne, RR and Discos are the yummy mummy cars of choice.

I didn't quite get why JLR brought out the F Pace when they already had the Evoque. My brother in law in the States tried the F Pace and the RRS but eventually bought the Cayenne which he loves.

My other half has an Evoque and loves it, she's not posh and an older Mum so doesn't do the school run these days thank goodness! Anyhow I quite like driving the Evoque Embarassed I'll get me coat Rolling Eyes t

Yeah, we also have an Evoque. It looks pretty and is ok for shopping and knocking around in but the boot is too small for our dogs which tends to limit it's use.

Evoque and D4 was the best thing JLR did in years. Have they peaked, 'cause the e-Pace and the D5 aren't better? Now left.
