New Government MOT reminder service
The government has released a beta reminder service for MOT's. It's in testing but I can see it being used full time soon. Just needs a vehicle reg and either a mobile number or email address.

I've signed up both of my cars and it's very easy to do.

That's something that needed doing,
We must have at least 2 or 3 cars a month that turn up for an MOT which are one or two months overdue!

Makes me laugh, they are quick enough to send tax reminders, heaven forbid if you don't pay,
MOT..... That's your problem Whistle 80" 80" 86" 88" 90"

Wanted, Forward Control Anything considered.

But it IS our problem.....

what's so difficult about putting a reminder on some kind of sheet that has all the days of the year on it in a nice monthly format, something like a calendar? Laughing

Or on a phone even, to remind you say, one month before it expires.

I can see your point, and it's not difficult to forget.
But it's amazing to think how many motors are on the road with no MOT because they forgot Rolling Eyes 80" 80" 86" 88" 90"

I think it's been around for some time. But you had to pay for it.

There are plenty of other ways of doing it though, write it on a calendar or set a phone reminder. I've got the AA app on my phone that does it automatically, as well as tax.

Thanks for that. Tried to have a text notification and it told me the service was not available. Worked OK for an email.

What happens if the reminder is blocked in spam, or isn't sent? You're still going to be liable. Much better to just put a reminder on a calendar or phone. My local garage just phones me up to remind me, but there's a sticker on a door in the garage to remind me too.

This system isn't compulsory, just a tool that's available. Use whatever works for you. Darren
