With three saloons, a Morgan, the truck and a motorbike all needing yearly insurance renewal, I reckon I waste about two days of my life every year doing the comparison thing.
And every year there’s no rhyme nor reason for the renewal increase that they try on hoping you’ll do the lazy thing and simply renew: Admiral priced themselves out of it last year and in 2017 Saga upped the Defender’s premium from £264.99 to £347.38. A new quote from NFU was £898. The Defender 2.4 is currently insured for £205.45, it wouldn’t surprise me if next year LV send in a renewal offer of three hundred quid, I do the Meerkat/Compare runaround and it becomes Saga’s or Admiral’s turn to be the cheapest. Funny about NFU, as I insure my house and contents with them for a not inconsiderable about of premium. Yet when I requested a quote for our 90" , in response to their frequent approaches for vehicle insurance , they came back with a figure which was nearly 3 times what I was paying. When I raised this, their response was "not really surprised as we are not that competitive for vehicles" Obviously too much business going their way?? 1983 Series 3 Pick up in Marine Blue
