Usually nothing else needed. And if: NO SILICONE! NEVER! I contains acid which is highly corrosive! Use PU or some permanent elastic for automotive use.... WANTED:

Fitted my seals a few weeks ago, but find them a bit 'squeaky' now. Any suggestions for how to reduce the squeaks? Sorry to hijack this thread!

no problem
You can use silicone or PTFE spray or talcum powder. Or there is a special rubber treatmen you can find in automotive shops. How is sqeaky exactly meant? WANTED: SII or SIII in max 1.5k |

Thanks Peter,
After careful examination (I originally thought the squeaking sound was from the door rubbing on the 'new' inner lip of the seal), it is coming from the top part of the door rubbing on the outer seal. Guess our Defenders have as much structural rigidity as a lettuce leaf, so I shouldn't be surprised! Anyway, back to the seats......

This is ocasionally possible. Just press the seal a little bit up or lower the door slightly.
