I was at the NEC Classic car show today. At the strike of 11 am silence fell in all 7 halls. Quite literally thousands of people showing their respects. Quite moving itself. 2010 XS USW

I had the honour to take part in the firing of the cannon to mark the two minute silence today and will be gun commander to do it tomorrow prior to hosting a few Chelsea pensioners, as many of you know I wear the uniform of the British army and I am honoured to be able to pay my respects to those who have served before and alongside me, these men and women enable be to serve often by paying the ultimate sacrifice
They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old: Age shall not weary them, nor the years contemn. At the going down of the sun and in the morning We will remember them. 90 wolf - Jasmin http://www.defender2.net/forum/topic39408.html 90 V8 - Maggie http://www.defender2.net/forum/topic42564.html 110 TD5 - Buggsy http://www.defender2.net/forum/topic59029.html 52HG25 lightweight https://www.defender2.net/forum/topic72342.html D3 Hse - Fiona Capri 2l S - Anna Think I might have a problem............ |

I was watching too, my grandfather fought in the exact same campaigns as the gentleman you are talking about. There was just two years between them in age. My grandfather was born in 1915 and the gentleman on the programme would have been 1917. He was a driver for the officers and transportation etc. Including Scamells, the early Jeeps and various trucks and trailers and heavy transport. In North Africa and the Egypt. No Guts, No Glory. 🇬🇧🏴🏴🏴🇮🇪🇺🇸⛽️🛢️⚙️🧰💪 |
