Remembrance Service
Am watching the service and am moved as normal.

Listening to the aged ex service personnel is so moving.

One gentleman, over 100 battles in 15 countries and did not see his family for 7 years.

My hat off to this generation.

I was at the NEC Classic car show today. At the strike of 11 am silence fell in all 7 halls. Quite literally thousands of people showing their respects. Quite moving itself. 2010 XS USW

Thumbs Up I had the honour to take part in the firing of the cannon to mark the two minute silence today and will be gun commander to do it tomorrow prior to hosting a few Chelsea pensioners, as many of you know I wear the uniform of the British army and I am honoured to be able to pay my respects to those who have served before and alongside me, these men and women enable be to serve often by paying the ultimate sacrifice Bow down Bow down

I was watching too, my grandfather fought in the exact same campaigns as the gentleman you are talking about.
There was just two years between them in age.
My grandfather was born in 1915 and the gentleman on the programme would have been 1917.

He was a driver for the officers and transportation etc. Including Scamells, the early Jeeps and various trucks and trailers and heavy transport.
In North Africa and the Egypt. No Guts, No Glory.
