According to the workshop manual, you can remove the EGR and generally give it a good cleaning with a wire brush and a bit of sand blasting. Actually very easy to do. This is of course only relevant to the 2.25 diesel 88/109 sold in Australia . How things have changed! Can post the relevant page from the Series 111 workshop manual if anyone wants to wallow in nostalgia.
Imagine if you followed those instructions for the Puma EGR and then went to your dealer to claim under the warranty! 1982 88" 2.25 diesel 1992 110 200tdi csw -Zikali 2008 110 2.4 tdci csw-Zulu 2011 110 2.4 tdci csw-Masai |

I cleaned my EGR valve in a tub of hot soapy water, left to soak over night.
Then used a small wire brush to get baked on crud off. I then left it to soak in WD40 for a few hours, looked mint afterwards, then i removed it! |
