Puma 2.2 new engine
Just had a new engine on my 2012 90 Puma. Oil change every 6000 mls synthetic, high grade fuel and slick 50 treatment
and was running very well with 65k on the clock.
According to the garage the 2.2 oil pumps are faulty the part number has now changed. This does not effect the 2.4 as it has a different pump.

Not good news!! Had yours had the oil pump recall carried out?

Mine is also a 2012 2.2 on 52k so hope I don't have this to look forward to! Mine has had the recall so fingers crossed I'm OK. James

So it’s out of warranty , how is it being replaced , by your own pocket or extended warranty ?

Did you approach Landrover? Was your vehicle within the VIN range for the oil pump recall & had it been done? When did you buy the vehicle, and who fitted the new engine?
Sorry to ask all these questions, just wondering particularly if it was the oil pump that caused the issue, and if the recall had been carried out?
Regards, Pickles.

Matt Spencer at Carriages Auto Services Ltd had several 2.4 TDCi up for sale the other day, might be worth trying. James
