While fiddling with my nuts today I took a look at the spare...well it is a steel wheel and has the nuts for steel. Is this normal?
Do I need to look out for a few spare nuts for steel wheels as I only have the 3? The Tyre is an Avon Rangemaster and marked as a 108/106N 7.50R16, now if I put this on as a spare with my 265/75 R16 BFG Tyres will it cause me issues with TC etc. |

Just check the DOT code on the tyre. There should be a 4 digit number after DOT representing when tyre was made
First two numbers 01-52 represent the week number. Second pair of number represent the year. So 0117 represents the first week (week 1) in 2017. Tyre age? Different sites give different guidance at what age tyres should be discarded. I have seen recommendations from 5 to 10 years. Personally I will not use a tyre over 7 years old on our Defenders. Tyres age, crack and deteriorate with age. I have found that I get more punctures on old tyres then new tyres. So buying a second hand tyre apart from looking at tread depth, check carefully for cracking between tread blocks and around the rim and check those DOT dates. Remember those 4 black round rubber things are what keeps your vehicle in contact with the road. Brendan |

Two individual Boost wheels with tyres available here that may suit. You'd need to check the sizes:
