Heater control valve
Just a warning to give your heater valve a wiggle to make sure all is well!
My 08 Puma has just gone in to limp mode while driving, eventually coming to a stop!

The housing had cracked and come away loosing all its coolant Big Cry

Just off to get some tools to bodge back together and get it home.
Hope it's ok Neutral

That valve really is one of the nastier features of the Puma! Cheap and tacky in terms of quailty, and obscenely expensive to replace.

Got one on order, at least it was a simple road side fix!
Your right, not the cheapest of parts for what it is.

Engine seems ok now, when I realised something was wrong, I pulled over to look under the Bonnet, and noticed it had dumped all its coolant, it was all very hot, and not at all happy!

I tried to restart it, and it was having none of it, it would hardly turn over,
I thought that was the end!

It all seems ok now it's cooled down, and replenished with coolant.

Good job I wasn't bowling down the motorway! 80" 80" 86" 88" 90"

Your not kidding!
Maybe I should just use one as a daily drive?

Is there a trusted aftermarket replacement?

That’ doesn’t look like a great design, clearly the heating+cooling effect plus normal vibration is fatiguing that joint. Fairly serious implications of it going too. 2014 Keswick Utility 2.2

I don't think there is an uprated replacement?
I'm sure there has been a topic on this part not that long ago asking the same thing? 80" 80" 86" 88" 90"

Perhaps a solution would be to engineer some sort of nearby support for the two pipes so they're not hanging on the valve body? Darren
