Had exactly the same thing and thought the engine mounts were on there way out. Does your engine make a chirp sound when you switch off too? Mine was the crankshaft pulley (or harmonic damper) on its way out, if you do a search on here for crankshaft pully or read this good description and fix if the symptoms sound familiar.

Is it the emisions control? Mine dos it if I coast up to lights. I've read others have had similar problems 2014 - current ..... 2003 defender td5 90 (my car)

Mine makes a chirp sound when l turn off the engine but it's just the aux drive belt, a bit of WD 40 silences the chirp for a short time.
The belt has been replaced which de-chirped it for a while but the chirp has returned. l checked the tensioner which seems fine. |

Can be high idle and low idle. Some do it more than others.
