Td5 engine/ driving question
Hi all
I have a td5 90
After driving it for 5 mins or more and then coming to a stop (cause of traffic lights) the engine seem to shake the car for about 5 seconds then stops and puts over normally
Anybody had this or know anything about it ?
Thank you

Had exactly the same thing and thought the engine mounts were on there way out. Does your engine make a chirp sound when you switch off too? Mine was the crankshaft pulley (or harmonic damper) on its way out, if you do a search on here for crankshaft pully or read this good description and fix if the symptoms sound familiar.

Mine makes a chirp sound when l turn off the engine but it's just the aux drive belt, a bit of WD 40 silences the chirp for a short time.
The belt has been replaced which de-chirped it for a while but the chirp has returned.
l checked the tensioner which seems fine.

Can be high idle and low idle. Some do it more than others.
