OK so today I filled it up and took it for a decent test drive. Mostly on duel A45. Kept to 60mph, drove like a granny and through the gears I did not let it rev over 2500rpm.

The result was 22.38 which has pushed my avarage (over 2826 miles) down to 22.96mpg.

So the new ECU up date does nothing to help, if anything it is worse. Before December with the roof rack on (now off) it would have been plus 27mpg.

Is there a method of finding the ecu software verisons?

Westover in Christchurch told me there were no updates for my 2007 57 plate puma.

I don't know how you can tell but I bet soemone like Pete form BAS woudl know.

BTW my fuel problem is now sorted. I put a new MAF in and it is running very well, more to report soon. I will add that it was a pity that the dealers would not fit a new one and stuck to thier story that mine was fine, such liers!!!

Just had my ECU update done.....seems more responsive and has more urge - not sure about MPG just yet. No other difference except that my 'surging' problem when engine cold and pulling up slight incline in 2nd seems to have been reduced. wynnes diesel additive was added too along with 2year service items - so there may be other factors at play here.

Question - I've a scangauge fitted that gives an inlet air temperature reading - is this taken from the MAF sensor, if so if the reading is about ambient air temp, is it safe to assume the MAF is OK?

Thanks

Keith
