I've got a 1.2 unit from a 110 v8 with vdo. I was going to strip it and check it before using it but plans have changed.
I was told it works fine but it will need a new seal at least. I paid £100 and want what I paid for it 2014 - current ..... 2003 defender td5 90 (my car) 2009 - current .... 2005 zx10r |

A master rebuilt kit from Ashcroft is around the £95 mark if you want to do it yourself. For an extra £500 or so you can fit an ATB centre diff, and there are options for sleeving the intermediate shaft and a number of other beneficial enhancements.
If you want a properly rebuilt exchange unit, once again Ashcroft Transmissions can supply. (I have no connection with them except as a very satisfied ciustomer, by the way. There may be cheaper options, but I doubt that there are better options). |

Cheer’s for the reply Blackwolf.
Got one ordered today from Hobson Industries after some good recommendations. Should then hopefully do for a fair few miles. |

Hi David,
Just ordered a standard replacement defender transfer box. They are rebuilt to factory specs, so hopefully I maybe able to get another 233,000 miles from it. I’ve just had a new gearbox fitted to. Cost of the transfer box was £495 + VAT |
