Not a professional, but if it was mine I would remove the rivnuts, sort out the corrosion, rub down bare metal and etch prime. I would then bond a patch on the rear of the holes using silkaflex or body filler and fill the holes with body filler. Usual prep for painting. Then seal the back with Dinitrol or Waxoyl.

Thanks for the reply, had thought of doing this also wondered about the the liquid metal epoxy products that are available.

I have used epoxy filler for these small patches with no problem. Surface preparation to get a good "key" is essential. Never had one fail even when used off road in rough conditions. I think the patch gives strength to the repair and is better than just filling the hole with filler.
