Headlight grill removal
When we bought the 110 it had genuine LR grills on the headlights & to be honest they're not my taste and make it difficult to clean the headlights ect. Much better now they're removed but have left four holes on each wing, the top holes have riv nut inserts with no corrosion but the lower ones have corroded quite badly! 2012 Puma, nothing new there then! Question is how would a professional fill the holes pre paint? Mig weld them, spoke to a family member ( fabricator / welder ) and said it will distort badly & the corrosion would be an issue. It's a keeper so needs to be done once & right thoughts?[/u]

Not a professional, but if it was mine I would remove the rivnuts, sort out the corrosion, rub down bare metal and etch prime. I would then bond a patch on the rear of the holes using silkaflex or body filler and fill the holes with body filler. Usual prep for painting. Then seal the back with Dinitrol or Waxoyl.

I have used epoxy filler for these small patches with no problem. Surface preparation to get a good "key" is essential. Never had one fail even when used off road in rough conditions. I think the patch gives strength to the repair and is better than just filling the hole with filler.
