Smart watches (mens)
Hello

Following my other post about an Apple watch for the Mrs, I've also been looking at these for me (not APPLE !!)

A year ago I bought a KW88 Kingpin took ages setting it up and it was very much like the Tag connect (which I liked at the geneva car show but its £1500) in looks, however the battery would not last a day... so no good and sold it. I may look at these again if the battery is now better?

Quite good you could choose any face pretty much you wanted?

Now I'm looking at the Huawei Watch 2 Bluetooth Sport Smartwatch for Android and the Samsung Gear S3?

I would like one that does the heart rate for sports, I also like the fact the Huawei one should be easier to change the faces etc given its OS.

Currently I use a Microsoft Band 1 and its literally handing together, I use it for football, squash, cycling and tennis and I've had to superglue bits back on it a few times... buts its still going just....

So Smart watches.... What have people got / use ?

I'm a massive fan of Pebble. Currently got a Pebble Time Steel, lasts several days on a charge, puts up with all the abuse I've thrown at it (minor mark on screen only) and pairs fine with my Iphone.

Great bit of kit, shame it didn't get developed further once Fitbit bought them Sad

I have an 42mm Apple Watch 2 Nike edition and it does everything I need and as Apple give you a free update just about every year it should last for a good while longer. Ray

I'm on Fitbit Charge HR.

Good points is the battery lasts several days between charges.

Interface is rubbish. Build is rubbish I am on my 3rd under warranty as others have fallen apart.

I will follow this with interest as will look to change to something else once the current one fails. 1995 Defender 110 CSW

I've always used a Garmin vivofit - sleek and has a small screen which I find useful. I never took it off, literally wore it 24/7! Mainly got this because I have a Garmin cycle computer so one app to update / use was better than several.

But when I was in the states this summer, Macy's had a discount on Apple iWatch, so I converted and got one...I must say although I was a non-believer since they were released, I'm very impressed with it overall, but the step tracking is totally different to the garmin/fitbit etc. (ie, far less)! My 90 Project : http://www.defender2.net/forum/topic52774.html

I've currently got a Vivosmart HR+, which is ok and does all that I need, including various phone notifications. It's a bit dull though, so I wear it on my right wrist and a regular watch on my left.

Before that I had a Vivoactive HR for a few weeks. It was functionally better than the 'smart but after a while I found that it was burning my wrist under the monitor LED's. A quick 'net search revealed quite a few that had suffered similar, so it went back. Darren
