[Wanted] Puma output adaptor shaft (scrap) for chopping up
Does anyone happen to have a scrap output adaptor shaft for a Puma MT82 gearbox I could have?

I have an application in mind which needs just the transfer box end splines of this shaft, and given the number of failed ones there must be knocking around, I was hoping to scrounge one for the cost of postage rather than buy a new one and cut the end of it.

Many thanks.

Edit - Title changed to be shorter, because it bugged me that it ended up with the word "choppin". That's way too Gangsta for me. Shocked

Hiya Blackwolf,

I'm planning on a swap to the Ashcroft version asap. Got most the parts together for the swap and should be cracking on with it in the next few days.

Putting an HD clutch in too which will be the first time I've changed a clutch, so in exchange for a bit of technical support if I need it I'd be happy to post you the shaft I take out Smile Rolling Eyes

That would be great, many thanks. I'd be interested to hear how the HD clutch works out too, and am happy to answer any questions I can. Changing a clutch isn't difficult, but the gearboxes are heavy.

I am of course happy to pay the postage etc.

Thanks Ian, much appreciated.

I will be changing my clutch again as soon as I get the time (the current one has now done about 70k miles and is pretty harsh, although it doesn't seem to rattle). It will be interesting to see how my output adaptor shaft is looking now it has around 225k miles on it.
