I sooked a few filter but never as bad as that. Not even after doing this:

lt still drives OK but you have to press the pedal further before the turbo comes in, and then it's more progressive in the power delivery.
Turning the ignition off then back on will reset it. Obviously not possible while driving.

£20 via paypal to anybody who suggests a solution which works (you'll have to trust my honesty with that)

Did you check your throttle position sensor? If the 3 tracks don't correspond you can get weird issues. My guess would be that there is a problem at full throttle position and the ecu will go to a different fuel map. Roel

The air intake is the standard wing-side grille. However, I've now discovered that the dump valve rubber teat is missing so it will also have been sucking air/water in via the bottom of the T piece where the dump valve should be located.

It has the ESR3162 which has some gauze/membrane over its bottom drain port, but it doesn't have an NRC8955. Shouldn't the NRC8955 rubber teat be attached to the bottom drain port of the ESR3162? I don't see it in the diagram

Wow. That is far worse than mine was. No wonder it wasn't running right.

It's a possibility, l'll see how much a new one is.
