2008 Defender 110 Puma 2.4 DCPU Java Black

How to immobilise engine

I am in the process of fitting a new turbo and the fitting notes recommmend turning the engine over (without it starting) in order to pump oil out of the oil feed pipe.

On the older engines I've had it's easy enough to pull the power to the stop solenoid in the pump but on the 2.4 it's obviously a different kettle of fish.

Is there a proper way of doing this?

Generally if you need to do this, just unplug the injectors.
They will throw up a code, but your EML shouldn't stay on permanently once refitted. 80" 80" 86" 88" 90"

I have a nanocom anyway so I can clear any fault codes
